This is a barrilete (kite) and is part of a set of ornaments inspired by my hometown, it’s an homage to one of the iconic toys every Guatemelan kid has played with. In the town of Sumpango, their kite festival is famous for the giant kites, these fly mostly at the cemetery as a tradition to scare away evil spirits to let their loves ones rest in peace. These ornaments are laser cut at a local shop and individually hand painted by me. It measures 4X4”(wood portion) , 4X9"(including the tail approximately. You can hang it on your tree and also keep it around the whole year 💕
